Hi Frens,

I’m extremely excited about all of the activity across the Futureverse Ecosystem right now. They say bear markets are for those who BUIDL, so naturally, while others are in hibernation, we’re doubling down on our activity to set everything up for an explosive future.

With more than 300 people (and counting) working daily on technology, partnerships, investment and IP, we’re poised for a monumental Year of the Rabbit in 2023. Despite the current turbulence in financial markets around the world, The Metaverse isn’t going away. It’s not even slowing down, and we’re there to make sure communities are the owners and the winners. I’m excited to share a lot more of what’s under the hood as the year comes to a close, so stay tuned.

‍The future of art is here

Thingie art has arrived, and now the power to create AI art is in your hands. 

‍

We’re excited to share the first stage of Thingie Utility is now live! All Thingie holders can now create their own AI artwork, straight from the Underground. Much like Thingies fur, their art style is entirely unique, ensuring no two Thingies will create the same masterpiece.

This utility allows users to participate in an evolving AI protocol with our partner Altered State Machine, shaping the future of AI generative art, and FLUF World itself.

You can immediately list any artwork your Thingie creates as an NFT in the Underground, OpenSea and LooksRare. Our Thingies are making history, being the world's first AI-created NFT capable of creating NFTs themselves. NFTception!

You own full commercial rights to any artwork created by your Thingie, allowing myriad real-world applications for your Thingie art. You can sell it, put it on a t-shirt, or even use it for a brand logo. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

This is only the first stage in our planned utility for Thingies. Thingies will unlock additional artistic abilities as they begin awakening from their slumbering dream state. Our future updates will expand the range of art styles and allow you to enter custom inputs, giving you more control over what your Thingie creates.

Like each month before it, September has been a time of intense growth, exciting opportunities, and the evolution of our shared ecosystem. It’s hard to believe FLUF World has only been around for a year to date, and in that time, we’ve grown from a small group of friends, to a 75-strong media, gaming & entertainment powerhouse, heading boldly into the uncharted Futureverse. None of this would have been possible without the support and unwavering faith of the Mighty Fluffle. I’d like to thank each and every one of you for joining and inspiring us on this crazy ride, which I can promise you isn’t slowing down any time soon.

While the market is still reeling from the recent financial downturn, we’ve been heads down, tails up BUIDLing, from new creative partnerships, to our Root Network blockchain, character collections and the industry-leading tech powering it all.

To keep you all up to speed, we created Probably Nothing, an ongoing newsletter series, where we’ll wrap up the highlights of the past month, and the progress going on behind the scenes.

The Next Legends

The journey to greatness begins with a knockout Pro Pack mint

The Next Legends launched with a knockout Pro Pack mint, featuring an ecosystem-first staggered minting event to cater to different timezones. 

Over a 24hr period, holders of eligible assets who registered for our mint lottery were notified via phone or email when it was time to mint their Pro Pack. 

Through an innovative character generation process, participants were able to mint a Pro Boxer & limited edition Gym Bag: everything they need to get started on their journey to greatness in the upcoming AI-powered meta game.

The Next Legends represents an ongoing collaboration between Non-Fungible Labs, Altered State Machine and the Muhammad Ali brand, via estate managers Authentic Brands Group.

Our creative team is working hard to bring our innovative projects to life. Here’s a sneak peek into the work going on behind the scenes.

‍Gods & Goblins

Amulets
‍The Queen is gearing up to reward worthy pledgers with one of three potential amulets. The design process for these has been extensive, from inspiration sourcing, integration into the lore and their reworking into future metaverse wearables.

Asset Modelling
‍With 6 factions still to be revealed, we’ve undertaken an incredible amount of work to build and develop these diverse characters, from Tinkers to Giants and all in between. This has involved taking sculpted models and optimising them for animation in-game to ensure they function seamlessly.

Pledge & Sacrifice UX
In designing the digital experience for our pledge & sacrifice, immersion and interactivity have been at the forefront. We’ve been working to develop the environments for our web UI, along with rigging our head Tinker, Varlin, who will be there to greet you on your journey down the path.

Buzzies

Design
‍Buzzies is an incredibly exciting project. We wanted Buzzies to not just compete with the cuteness of Thingies, but stand on their own as an art and utility-rich character collection with a complex evolutionary biology, family tree and unique traits. This led us down a discovery process, from our lore, to family specific traits, and the design of our various base models, which we’re excited to share in the coming weeks.

Scenes
‍‍Getting the scenes right has been a lot of work. The focus is to build out the story first: an epic journey through exotic areas in FLUF World that tie into existing locations and collections, with hidden easter eggs to discover and new stories to explore.

This process has gone from concept art to modelling in Blender and texturing in Substance Painter, through to staging, lighting and animation in Unreal Engine 5. These aren’t your standard scenes.

We’ve seen several fake social media accounts attempting to impersonate our pages in the last few weeks. These accounts share dangerous links that could steal your information. Here’s how you can spot a fake FLUF World account.

Look for the blue tick. We are authenticated by Twitter. If it doesn’t have the blue tick, it’s not the real Fluf World account. 

We will never DM you first. 

We have no plans to release extra Flufs. These accounts promote an upcoming mint and ask you to click a link to secure your spot. Never click these links!

Check the details. Spelling mistakes or inaccurate information are common in these accounts. 

This industry is rife with malicious actors, and we want to ensure you know how to protect yourself and your assets. In each month's update, we will share security advice to keep you safe and secure while exploring the Web3 space.
